Make a BeamMP server

-

To enhance your BeamNG online experience with friends, the BeamMP mod is your go-to choice. It ensures smooth connections and enjoyable gaming sessions.

1.Getting Started:

  • Download BeamMP: Begin by downloading and installing the BeamMP client. It's a breeze; just select your preferred language during installation. After completion, find the new desktop icon to launch the game. Look out for the "Multiplayer" icon on your main menu.

2.BeamMP Server Register:

  • Obtain the Auth Key: To set up your own server, you'll need an authentication key from BeamMP Keymaster. Head to the Keymaster, click on "Keys" (the key symbol), and then hit the blue 'here' text.

And finally, we have a dropdown menu with three tabs.

  • Accounts: This tab allows us to create more accounts so that other users can manage the server.

  • Current Config: The 'Current Config' tab lets us view the complete server configuration document to assist in resolving potential issues.

  • Logs: Serves a simillar function allowing us to check what's going on in the server to resolve issues

  • Server Name: Now, fill out the Server Name field. This is only for the key name, not the actual server name on the list. For example:

3.Server Creation Now, let's head to the server creation tool. After placing your order, you'll receive an AssettoHosting link, a username, and a password. Click on the link and go to the top right corner to log in.

In this control panel, you'll edit and manage all the BeamMP server settings.

The first tab to set up is called "Config." Here, you'll find the following fields:

  • Name: This is the server's name that will be displayed on the lobby.
  • Auth Key: Add the secret key created earlier on the BeamMP website.
  • Private: Enabling this option makes the server private and hidden from the lobby. The only way to join is by using the direct connection method.
  • Max Cars: Set the maximum number of cars the server can handle.
  • Max Players: Specify the maximum number of online players allowed to join.
  • Map: Choose from a dropdown menu with all the map presets set on the "Maps" tab.
  • Description: This text will appear on the lobby when a player is about to join the server.

Additionally, there's another section that allows you to enable the dark theme for the manager and customize colors, logos, fonts, etc. This feature is intended for advanced users with website knowledge.

Next tab is called content, there we will load our mods, mainly cars and tracks.

BeamNG Content TAB Server will sync that content with any driver that join the server. You can simply drag and drop you zip folders into that area. In case you have a large number of mods to load, don’t drop them all in one go, also keep in mind that large number of mods will make any new client to join the server load more since it will have to sync all the content with the server.

Now, if we head to the one called 'Maps,' we will see a big text area. Here, the server will read the path for each map, allowing us to pre-load any map we want. Make sure the path is correct and points to the info.json file of each track. You can open the ZIP file for that track to verify the path is pointing in the right direction.

And the last main tab is the one that allows us to install plugins with one click. We have made a list of preinstalled plugins, which allows for a really easy installation of them.

And finally, we have a dropdown menu with three tabs.

  • Accounts: This tab allows us to create more accounts so that other users can manage the server.

  • Current Config: The 'Current Config' tab lets us view the complete server configuration document to assist in resolving potential issues.

  • Logs: This one serves a similar purpose and allow us to read the logs that the server is generating
